Arrow Elemental

Stories I Tell My Kids

A story requested by eldest son.

Once upon a time there was a fletcher that made arrows. He lived in a cabin and made many arrows for the local villagers which they used to hunt to food. One day he decided to try alchemy, to see if he could make a potion that would help him make arrows faster. He was not very good at alchemy, however, and the potion he created generated a whirlwind in his cabin, picking up all the arrows and creating an arrow elemental.

The fletcher had to flee because the arrow elemental was very sharp and very dangerous. He realized, however, that the only way to stop the elemental was to smash the potion that had created it. So the fletcher snuck back into his house and smashed the potion. The elemental was destroyed causing arrows to rain down everywhere. The arrows buried themselves in the ground, sticking up out of the soil like a field of crops.

Regininja

Stories I Tell My Kids

A story requested and inspired by younger son.

Once upon a time, younger son and Dad went to the ninja garden. A ninja creature called a Regininja lived there, hiding up in the trees. It only liked younger son, so Dad had to stay outside the garden. Younger son went in and practiced ninja skills with the Regininja, jumping from tree to tree and playing hide and go seek.

Eventually younger son convinced the Regirock to make friends, so Dad got to come in and they all had tea.

Zombie Cows

Stories I Tell My Kids

This is actually a story my kids told me. At the grocery store we found some yogurt with a picture of a cow on the front. The cow’s head was much larger than its body, and my kids decided it was a “zombie cow” and were complaining that they were too freaked out to look at it.

I asked what zombie cows eat, and the eldest told me they eat “zombie grass” which is made from skeleton bones…
…I must be a terrible parent…
